A trip to Sedona
Hey readers. I know it's been a very long time, almost a year now, since I've posted last. But I am working on my consistency! Pinky promise! Life is lifing sometimes.
This past August I went to Sedona Arizona, and had the best time of my life. I met incredible women, all from different walks of life. We gathered for dinner at a long rectangle wooden table and shared our stories.
This was hosted by two women who started Black Women's Yoga Collective. Mel and Drew are so charming, sweet, organzied, and so much fun. I really needed this retreat, not just to reset, but to be alone with my thoughts.
Arizona has the most amazing views. Every where you turn there's another mountain that you need to take a picture of on your phone. The scenic views alone would make me want to live out there, however that HEAT!!! Gave me second thoughts. I do prefer to sweat then shiver, but that heat was so intense.
My favorite part about this retreat was the food. I love food, especially when I can enjoy it and not have to worry about an allergy. Drew was a fantastic chef. She really catered to my allergies, and prepared food that was so good I almost ate the plate.
Yes the yoga classes and group discussions were incredible, however! Food is a huge deal for me. "Fish gotta eat, Birds gotta swim" ~ Finding Nemo

When I arrived in Phoenix I was greeted by Cici and Shea, two beautiful women who made me feel at home in Arizona, we traveled together to get to our destination in Sedona. We took photos for about two hours of every cactus, mountain, blue sky, and crow we could see. I knew right away I was going to have the best time. And I wasn't wrong.

How beautiful is this!!! I think I saw God's thumb, from the movie Holes as well!
We arrived at our retreat house, this place had everything! A cold plunge, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. I loved it! I want my home to look like this. All of the decor and flowers, the chandeliers were to die for. It was a perfect space for a relaxing yoga retreat.
Wet Beaver Creek was beautiful. I swam in a creek! Check it off my list. I gave my legs a nice clay mask, sat on the rocks, and let the water flow over me, and meditated in the sun. Mother nature is beautiful.
Look at Drew's gluten free menu! Each plate and bowl touched my soul. The view helped too. When I arrived at my house, I was a little sad, to have to make my own meals again. I'm a big girl! I'm making my meals. I really couldn't tell you which plate was my favorite, all of these plates, and the plates I forgot to take photos of because the FOOD! Thank you Drew! Compliments to the Yoga Chef!

Thank you to all of these beatiful women. Thank you for sharing your stories, and listening to mine. Thank you for the laughs around the table. Thank you for the business ideas. Thank you for the encouragement, and love. Thank you for being you.
