My birthday in San Juan

Another year around the sun! I wanted to visit Puerto Rico specifically the city San Juan. I had a pleasant time. I love the sun, the beach, and being warm. San Juan gave me all of that. It was a beautiful gift.

Exploring the city was so much fun, the public transportation was amazing, the food was incredible, and the people were too nice. A few abuelas and abuelos were offering me snacks.. bananas and chips. Made me think a little bit.

My favorite part of being a tourist was stumbling upon a cultural building with an amazing history, that had a dance studio, and a stage. When I say I fell in love! I was looking for staff to see if they were hiring, I danced in the studio. I walked around the building and felt like I belonged.

I visited the the Art museum of San Juan. There was an exhibit about Antonio Lopez. A designer that shaped the fashion industry. His drawings were remarkable and breath taking. I really enjoyed learning about his life and journey.

The beach was ok. I know right! Just ok. The waves were very hard, but the water felt so good on my toes! Unfortunately I wasn't able to fully dip in the ocean. I still had a blast on the beach.

I found the best rice and beans at a place called Bebo's Cafe! If you plan to go to San Juan you must go there. The chicken is so good. Another favorite was Regina's Cafe. I had a delicious papaya bowl and fresh watermelon juice. I was in heave it was so fresh, I could have ordered another one.

I stayed at the La Buena Vida Inn. It was perfect for the three day trip. And lastly the cherry on top! My Best Friend came! We spent time enjoying the night life, eating amazing food, and celebrating my birthday!!

I will definitely revisit San Juan, with a longer stay. This three day trip was a short tease of amazing weather, good food, and loving people. San Juan muchos gracias.
